The purpose of this organization shall be to maintain the beauty, serenity and the attractiveness of the Spearfish Canyon, and monitor and protect the water quality and flow of Spearfish Creek and its tributaries and to preserve in perpetuity the covenants and conditions placed upon said property by Homestake Mining Company of California. To encourage and support the United States Forest Service, and any appropriate state agencies, in pursuing activities necssary to improve the health of the forest in Spearfish Canyon, including activities to assure improved fire protection and fuels reduction therein.
This year's meeting will be held at the Lead Country Club. Dave Brueckner will provide heavy Hors D'oeuvres at five stations in the newly renovated main dining room of the Country Club. SCOA will provide the food and a cash bar will be available from 5:00 to 6:45. Business meeting will start at 7:00.
